Coat of arms of the Russian Federation

Russia has the largest forest reserves in the world: almost 46% of its territory is forest. Most often there are coniferous, mainly consisting of spruce, pine, cedar, larch, and the like. However, the European part of Russia is rich in deciduous and mixed forests, in which you can find birches, aspens, lindens, oaks and other deciduous trees. Forests play a huge role in life on Earth: for good reason they are called "light planets." Conservation and augmentation of forests is a task that, as never before, is acute for all of us at the present time.
